CPD investigates injury accident on Public Square

On Monday, December 18, 2017, Columbia Police Department responded to a collision on the Public Square involving two vehicles and city property.

The collision occurred when 55-year-old Nancy King of Adair County was operating a 1994 Cadillac on the Public Square, attempting to merge right to turn onto Jamestown Street.


King stated that she had a mechanical failure that resulted in her side-swiping a 2015 Dodge Ram operated by Melissa Burton of Columbia. King then travelled a portion of the Square and struck a brick-bordered landscaping area on corner of the Square.

King was taken for treatment of her injuries to to TJ Health. She was treated and released.

The collision is being investigated by CPD Officer Drew Conn.
