COLUMBIA, Ky. - The No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Taylor (IN) 84-63 Saturday during the final day of the Lindsey Wilson Christmas Classic at Biggers Sports Center.



Five Blue Raiders (14-0) were in double led by Charles Sutton who scored a team-high 16 points while grabbing six rebounds. Jordan Hamlette recorded his first double-double of the season scoring 15 points and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Bryan Wallace scored 15 points while Kel Stotts and Can Oztamur scored 10 apiece.

Lindsey Wilson shot 53.2 percent while limiting the Trojans (9-5) to just 34.5 percent shooting. The Blue Raiders connected on 11-of-27 shots from beyond the arc and held a 42-29 edge in rebounds. Lindsey Wilson dominated in the paint outscoring Taylor 42-10.

The Blue Raiders opened up the first half on a quick 4-0 run before Taylor responded with a 5-0 run of its own. Leading 9-8, Lindsey Wilson went on a 16-3 run to extend the lead to 25-11 with 9:12 to play in the half. The Blue Raiders used a quick 9-3 extending their lead to 34-14. Marquis Johns ended the first half with a three just past half court to give the Blue Raiders a 44-22 lead at halftime.

Stotts and Wallace each scored 10 points in the first half while Johns added eight on 3-of-4 shooting from the field. The Blue Raiders shot 60 percent from the field in the half and were 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Lindsey Wilson limited Taylor to just 24.1 percent shooting and 3-of-11 on threes

Taylor opened up the second half scoring the first five points to cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to 44-27. The Blue Raiders responded with a 16-0 run to extend their lead to 60-27 with 14:52 left in the half. The two teams continued to trade baskets for the rest of the half as the Blue Raiders picked up the 84-63 victory. Lindsey Wilson shot 15-of-32 in the field in the half while Taylor shot 13-of-29. The Trojans heated up from three in the second half connecting on 8-of-16 attempts.
