Florence Curry, 99, Taylor County, KY (1918-2017)

She professed faith in Christ and was an active member of the Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a member of a highly regarded, old line South Central Kentucky family, the daughter of the late William Nelson & Edna Stearman Nelson. She was the widow of Boyce F. Curry, her husband of over 65 years. She leaves three direct living descendants.

Florence Curry of Campbellsville, KY died at 3:30amET, Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service for Florence Curry will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. John Butler, Rev. Adam Nash and Amber Nash. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 10am-1pmCT/11am-1pmET. Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Florence Curry, Taylor County, KY (1918-2017)


Florence Curry was the daughter of the late William Nelson & Edna Stearman Nelson. She was born September 2, 1918, in Taylor County, KY. She died Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 99 years, three months, and 12 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was an active member of the Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Florence united in marriage to Boyce F. Curry March 27, 1937 and he preceded her in death September 13, 2002. She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Mary Ann Russell of Campbellsville, KY

  • One granddaughter: Susan Phillips & husband, Kenny of Campbellsville, KY

  • One great-grandaughter: Amber Nash & husband, Adam, Albuquerque, NM

  • Two brothers and three sisters: David Nelson & wife, Ruby, Allen Ray Nelson; Betty Sharp, Thelma Barnes & husband, Kelsay "Bug" Barnes; and Rachel Durham & husband, Howard, of Campbellsville, KY

  • A sister-in-law: Anna Lee Curry of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: Buckner Nelson, Pearl Sullivan, Ruth Nelson and Gladys Milby; and a son-in-law, Eugene Russell June 26, 2003.
