Ruby Cobb Waters, Taylor Co., KY (1922-2017)

She was a retired employee of Sears, Roebuck & Company. After retirement, Ruby volunteered with the American Red Cross for twenty-five years, which she felt was her true calling. She never hesitated when she was called upon, even during the aftermath of the September 11th attacks and during the hurricanes in Florida. Ruby assisted many people who had been dislocated by these disasters by arranging for their shelter.

Ruby H. Waters of Campbellsville, KY died at 9:15pmCT, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in Greensburg, KY at age 95.

Visitation is from 5pmCT-8pm, Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY. Cremation was chosen by the family.



Ruby Cobb Waters, Taylor Co., KY (1922-2017)

She was the daughter of the late William Cobb and Cordie Acree Cobb, was born November 21, 1922, in Taylor County, KY. She died Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 95 years, 22 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church in Zoneton, Kentucky.

She was a retired employee of Sears, Roebuck & Company. After retirement, Ruby volunteered with the American Red Cross for twenty-five years, which she felt was her true calling. She never hesitated when she was called upon, even during the aftermath of the September 11th attacks and during the hurricanes in Florida. Ruby assisted many people who had been dislocated by these disasters by arranging for their shelter.

She united in marriage to Ernest L. Waters, Jr. November 7, 1947 and he preceded her in death December 7, 1983.

She is survived by
  • One son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Pattie Waters of Campbellsville;

  • Four grandchildren: Chris Waters and wife, Crystal, Tonya Waters and Private Corey Waters and wife, Chelsea of Campbellsville and Amanda Cherry and husband, Brian of Nashville;

  • Four great-grandchildren: Aydan Waters, Atleigh Waters, Locklynn Waters and Knox Waters;

  • Two step-great-grandchildren: Brennan Potter and Masen Potter;

  • One brother and one sister: Mary Nell White and husband, Daniel of Campbellsville and Shelly Cobb and wife, Maxine of Mt. Washington;

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Corrine Williams.

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be donations to the American Red Cross or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and may be made at the funeral home.
