Bobby Allen Barnett, 77, Summer Shade, KY (1940-2017)

He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a former police officer for the City of Edmonton. He was a member of a respected family with strong family ties in Barren, Metcalfe, Taylor County and elsewhere. He was the son of the late James Alford & Bertha Bryant Barnett. His wife, Wand McCoy Barnett, survives. He leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Bobby Allen Barnett age 77 of Summer Shade passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Signature Health Care in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 11amCT, Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, December 12, 2017, and after 9amCT, Wednesday at the funeral home.



Bobby Allen Barnett, 77, Summer Shade, KY (1940-2017)


He was the son of the late James Alford & Bertha Bryant Barnett. He was born January 11, 1940. He died Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 28 days.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a former police officer for the City of Edmonton.

Bobby is survived by his wife Wanda McCoy Barnett of Summer Shade, and the following:
  • One son: David Barnett of Summer Shade, KY

  • Two daughters: Denise Scott and Diane Moore and husband Steve all of Edmonton, KY

  • Three brothers: Roger and Jack Barnett of Campbellsville, KY; and Cecil Barnett of Arizona

  • Two sisters: Norma Jean Franklin and Rena Newton both of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Angela Zipf, Crystal Webb, Brandy Garmon, Cory Barnett, Delana Mahaney and Thomas Young

  • Nine great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Pete Barnett and a sister Rosaline Beck.
