Dinah Isabelle Stephens Bowen, Adair Co., KY (1928-2017)

She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville, KY. She was retired from Walmart in Campbellsville, KY, where she was head of the fabric department. She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Metcalfe County, KY, at the time of her death in Cumberland County, KY. She was a member of a respected South Central, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Allen & Lou Ella Keen Stephen and the widow of William Allen Bowen. She leaves two direct living descendants and many close kin in Adair, Metcalfe, and elsewhere. Her final resting place will be in Taylor County, KY.

Dinah Isabelle Stephens Bowen age 89 years a resident of Metcalfe County Health Care in Edmonton, KY, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Thursday December 7, 2017 at 1:07pmCT, at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

Funeral service Monday, December 10, 2017 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Pitcock the officiating clergy. Interment in Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation after 4pmCT, Sunday, December 9, 2017.



Dinah Isabelle Stephens Bowen, Adair Co., KY (1928-2017)


She was born on August 6, 1928 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Allen & Lou Ella Keen Stephens. She died Thursday, December 7, 2017, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 89 years, four months, and one day.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Bowen, on July 13, 1999; and by two brothers, David Stephens & Glen Stephens.

She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Susan Annette "Nettie" Grider & her husband Ronnie of Summer Shade, KY

  • Two sisters: Wanda Ballou of Columbia, KY; and Nona Jeffries of Center, KY.

  • One brother: Frank Stephens of Louisville, KY

  • Granddaughter: Julia Grider

  • Several nieces, nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville, KY. She was retired from Walmart in Campbellsville, KY, where she was head of the fabric department.
