Kerry Shawn Pierce, 42, Russell County, KY (1975-2017)

He was a dedicated Christian, a Gideon, who strived to walk in the footsteps of his Savior to the utmost of his ability. He dealt with life's challenges, steadfast in assurances of Christ. He had many, many friends and admirers who prayed for him during his valiant fight with cancer. He was a salesman for Stephens Pipe & Steel, a native of Cookeville, TN, and a resident of Russell Springs, KY, at the time of his death. His wife, Kelly Pierce, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants, daughters Olivia, Ella and Ava, Russell Springs, KY. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten by the community.

Kerry Shawn Pierce, 42, of Russell Springs, KY, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

Funeral service for Kerry Shawn Pierce will be 11amCT, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church, 392 KY-80, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Ryan Coffey, Bro. Greg Wade, and Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Visitation after 5pmCT, Monday, December 4, 2017, and after 8amCT, Tuesday, at the church. Interment in the Union Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers: Deacons of Russell Springs First Baptist Church. Active Pallbearers: Shawn Coffey, Scott Wells, Jonathan Smith, Chris King, Corey Hayes, and Shawn Foley. Special Music: Church Choir, Andrew Rexroat, Sam Wade.

He was born September 9, 1975 in Cookeville, Putnam County, TN. He died Saturday, December 2, 2017, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 42 years, two months, and 24 days.

Shawn was a salesman for Stephens Pipe & Steel.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Kelly Pierce, Russell Springs, KY,/li>
  • Three daughters: Olivia, Ella, and Ava

  • Mother: Eldene Emerson, Russell Springs, KY

  • Father: James Pierce, Glasgow, KY

  • Brother: Jonathan Pierce, Ontario, Canada
