Gov. Bevin sends invitation to Capitol Christmas tree lighting

This special event will occur rain or shine.

News from Governor Matt Bevin's Communications Office

The public is invited come light up the night and usher in the holiday season at the Kentucky State Capitol Front Steps, 700 Capital Avenue, Frankfort, KY, on Monday, December 4, 2017, at 5:30pmCT/6:30pmET, with a timeless Kentucky Christmas tradition: the Governor's Christmas Tree Lighting!



There will be complimentary hot chocolate and cookies during performances by the Frankfort School of Ballet, the Frankfort Christian Academy Middle School choir and bell ringers, and the Shelby County High School choir. Guests are encouraged to bring canned/non-perishable food items to donate to Frankfort's shelters for men and women.

Following the tree lighting ceremony, the Governor’s Mansion is ready to welcome everyone with a visit from Santa Claus and music from the electric orchestra of Westport Middle School.
