Dorris Laverne Parish, 79, Columbia, KY (1938-2017)

Mrs. Parish retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber in Noblesville, Indiana after 35 years of service. was a native of Mississippi County, MO, and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of her death. She was a member of a respected South Adair County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late John Henry & Bessie Haley Estes, and the widow of Shelby O. Parish. She leaves four direct living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Meade County, KY.

Dorris Laverne Parish, 79 of Sparksville Road, Columbia, KY a longtime resident of Noblesville, IN, passed away, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:40pmCT, at her home after several months illness.

Funeral service: Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Kyle Riddle, the officiating clergy. Interment in the Cap Anderson Cemetery, Brandenburg, KY at 1pmCT,2pmET on Friday. The family request visiting after 4pmCT on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby O. Parish, in 1998 and by three sisters Eva McAfee, Vera Howell and Susie Kirby

She is survived by:
  • Her son: Kevin Norris and wife Kathy of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Alene Hyslip of West Liberty, Ohio; Cris Filson of Greenfield, IN; and Eunice Fisher of Cedar Lake, IN

  • One grandson: Bobby Norris and wife Nequila of Columbia, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Jace & Gunner

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and a host of friends
