CPD, on Taylor Co. Sheriff's Office tip, makes arrest in theft case Tip from TCSO leads to investigation on Short Street, Columbia, KY, and arrest of 26-year-old on charges of receiving stolen property. Columbian arrested, lodged in Adair Regional Jail. Note: Charges/allegations are not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by law enforcement is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. By Ofc. Josh Brockman Public Information Officer Columbia Police Department, Chief, Jason Cross Columbia Police Department arrested Columbia man on theft charges while assisting Taylor County Sheriffs on investigation, Monday, November 27, 2017, Columbia Police Officer Charles Greer received a call Monday from Detective Benningfield with Taylor County Sheriffs Department. Benningfield advised that he was investigating the theft of a enclosed trailer taken from Taylor County and he received a tip that it was at a location in Columbia, possiblt on Short Street, in Columbia, KY. CPD Officers Greer and Jordan Dean responded to the area and located the trailer that was believed to have been stolen. Positive ID was then made by Detective Benningfield and the trailer was confiscated to be returned to the owner. CPD Ofc. Charlse Greer arrested 26-year-old Josh Sexton of Columbia, KY, on charges of Receiving Stolen Property over $500 but less than $10,000 and he was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail, Columbia, KY.
