She had made a profession in Christ and was a former employee of Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. She was a native of Marshall, IL; and a resident of Greensburg, KY, at the time of her death. She was the widow, first of David Coleman, Sr. and later of Emerole Johnson. She leaves 28 direct living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Illinois

Mrs. Alberta Helen Johnson, 81, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Monday, November 27, 2017 at her home in Greensburg.

The funeral services for Mrs. Alberta Helen Johnson will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, IN, with burial to follow in the Grandview Cemetery in Indiana. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, and from 3pmCT/4pmET until 7pmCT/8pmET, Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Fitzpatrick Funeral Home in Indiana.



Mrs. Alberta Helen Johnson, Green County, KY (1936-2017)


Mrs. Alberta Helen Johnson was the daughter of the late Albert Higgins & Helen Davis Higgins. She was born on Saturday, April 4, 1936 in Marshall, Clark County, IL, and departed this life on Monday, November 27, 2017 at her home in Greensburg, Green County, KY. She was 81 years, 7 months, and 23 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a former employee for Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

She united in marriage to David Coleman, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 3, 1987. She later united in marriage to Emerole Johnson who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include:
  • Her children and spouses: Jackie and Tom Roberts of Indiana, Teresa and Marshall Rutledge of Greensburg, KY; Angela Coleman, and Helen and Becky Coleman all of Indiana

  • A brother and sister-in-law: Fred and Janice Higgins of Indiana

  • Two sisters: Margaret Pitts and Glenda Knott, both of Indiana

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-seven great-grandchildren

  • Her dog: Junior

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by two children: David Coleman, Jr. and Colena Patterson; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
