Wings Express students hear motivational speaker Keith Merritt By Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer, Campbellsville Independent Schools Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students recently heard an inspirational message from a guest speaker. Keith Merritt, youth minister at Woodlawn Christian Church, spoke to students on Monday, November 13, 2017 about why Every Monday Matters. Merritt spoke to students about what it will take for them to accomplish their goals in life. He said students can't simply begin a career without any training or education. Merritt said it's important for students to remember that they must come to school every day, and, especially, Every Monday Matters. Merritt will meet with Wings Express students regularly to share inspirational messages. Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition. Wings Express students stay at school from 3pm to 5pmET. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are no activities on Fridays. Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs. About 90 students participate in the Wings Express program. Doretha Sanders is Wings Express director. For more information about the program, call Sanders at 270-465-4561. This story was posted on 2017-11-15 05:33:58
