Campbellsville Tigers football selected to host Victory Bowl

Saturday, November 18, 2017, will see Big Bowl Event at Finley Stadium, in Campbellsville, KY,as well as First Round National Playoff in Columbia at Blue Raider Stadium, in Columbia, KY.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - (Sun 12 Nov 2017) - For the second time in program history, Campbellsville football was selected to host the NCCAA Victory Bowl. The Tigers are set to host Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Saturday afternoon at 11amCT/12pmNoonET at Finley Stadium, 204 Tiger Way, Campbellsville, KY.



Campbellsville hosted its first NCCAA Victory Bowl in 2011, where it captured the bowl title. This is the Tigers third all-time appearance in the NCCAA Victory Bowl as they made their first appearance in 2010 and lost to North Greenville University on the road.

In the 2011 edition of the Victory Bowl, the Tigers took down Greenville University at home 21-7 in its first home Victory Bowl contest.

SAGU is making its second appearance in the NCCAA Victory Bowl and the Lions captured the championship in 2015 with a 10-7 victory over University of Northwestern at home.

Following a 49-28 loss to Lindsey Wilson this past week, Campbellsville enters the postseason with an overall record of 7-2 and finished third overall in the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division.

Entering the matchup on Saturday, SAGU has an 8-2 record after finishing its regular season with a 29-8 victory over Bacone College. The Lions finished second in the Central States Football League this season.

Both Campbellsville and SAGU entered the final week of the regular season ranked within the top 20 of the NAIA national poll.

Prior to the game this week, coaches and student-athletes from both teams will participate in a Christian Service Project and serve the local community.
