No. 1 LW Volleyball at Campbellsville Thu 02 Nov 2017 Season finale for unbeaten Blue Raiders By Christopher Coombs COLUMBIA, KY - The No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team takes on No. 24 Campbellsville (KY) in the Blue Raiders' regular season finale on Thursday at 6pmCT at the Powell Athletic Center, 203 Tiger Way, Campbellsville, KY. Lindsey Wilson (24-0, 13-0 MSC) has already clinched the MSC regular season title. The title marks the fifth-consecutive regular season crown for LWC and is the sixth in the previous seven years. Lindsey Wilson last defeated Cumberland (Tenn.) in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 25-8 and 25-13) on senior night. The win gave the seniors a perfect 56-0 record in Biggers Sports Center during their careers. In the match, the Blue Raiders hit .430 as they recorded 44 kills and just 10 errors. LWC held Cumberland to a .067 hitting percentage in the match and just 22 kills. Paulina Sobolewska spearheaded the Lindsey Wilson attack against the Phoenix with her match-high 10 kills. Elly Burke added nine kills and a .615 hitting percentage as Yeniffer Ramirez had eight kills. Makenzie Montano added 34 assists and six digs. Caitlyn Tino provided a team-high 16 digs while Lauren Streets chipped in with 10. Montano leads the MSC and is seventh in the NAIA after averaging 11.1 assists per set for the year. Grace Blomstedt has the highest hitting percentage in the NAIA at .538 and ranks 13th in blocks per set (1.2). The Blue Raiders rank second in the NAIA in hitting percentage (.353), fifth in kills per set (14.4) and 17th in blocks per set (2.3). Campbellsville (23-6, 10-3 MSC) is fresh off a 3-0 sweep of Cumberland (Tenn.) on Tuesday. On the night, the Tigers recorded nine service aces, 36 kills with a .235 hitting percentage and five blocks. Julia Fonseca lead the team with 12 kills as Kate Harris recorded 30 assists and Marcella Compeau compiled 18 digs. The meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Tigers is the 48th all-time as LWC is 23-24 and 11-8 when playing at Campbellsville.
