She was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church and the manager of apartment buildings in Louisville, KY for many years. She is remembered for her business talents, warm personality, beautiful smile, the trademark of her family; and her Christian ways. She was a native of Adair County and spent much of her decades here. She was a member of a leading Adair County family, the daughter of the late J.B. & Retta Bryant Pyles. Lyla Geneva Pyles, 89 years, of Campbellsville, KY formerly of Adair County passed away Wednesday night at 11:30pmET, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral Service is Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Clergy officiating: Jason Hood. Burial in the New Hope Cemetery, 135 New Hope Cemetery Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation Sunday, October 22, 2017 after 9amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Lyla Geneva Pyles, Campbellsville, KY/Adair native (1928-2017)

She was born on October 3, 1928 in Ella, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late J.B. & Retta Bryant Pyles. She died Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 15 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by:
  • One brother: Rollin Pyles of Campbellsville, KY.

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives & friends
Lyla was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church and the manager of apartment buildings in Louisville, KY for many years.
