No. 2 LWC Volleyball cruises to 3-0 sweep of Life By Chris Wells Marietta, GA - Makenzie Montano provided a double-double to help lead No. 2 Lindsey Wilson volleyball to a 3-0 win tonight over host Life (Ga.) at the Eagles' Nest. Montano posted a match-high 38 assists to go along with 11 digs in the 25-14, 25-17, 25-12 win. It is her sixth double-double of the season and second in the last three matches. Lindsey Wilson improves to 21-0 on the season and 10-0 in the Mid-South Conference with the win. Life falls to 16-8 overall and 4-4 in the MSC. The win is the second this season against the Running Eagles. The Blue Raiders also swept Life on Sept. 30 in Columbia. Grace Blomstedt led the Blue Raider hitting attack with 14 kills in 21 swings without an error. She ended the match with a .667 attacking percentage -- second best on the team for the match. Madison Molitor hit .889 in the match with eight kills in her nine attempts to lead the Blue Raiders. Paulina Sobolewska joined Blomstedt in double-digit kills with 11. Lindsey Wilson concluded the match with a .326 team hitting percentage. The Blue Raider defense was once again prominent in the match. Lindsey Wilson recorded 10 team blocks -- one solo and 18 block assists -- limiting the Running Eagles to a negative hitting percentage (-.010) in the match. Montano and Blomstedt each recorded five assisted blocks while Molitor chipped in four blocks to help Lindsey Wilson end Life's eight-match home winning streak. Caitlyn Tino joined Montano in double-digit digs with a match-high 13. Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4pmCT on Friday, Oct. 20, as the Blue Raiders host Pikeville (Ky.) at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive.
