KSP Post 15 activity for September 2017

Traffic fatalities situation improves in Post 15 dramatically, statewide is improving.

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

COLUMBIA, KY (11 OCT 2017) - During the month of September 2017, there were 18 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.



There were two fatal collisions during the month of September in the Post 15 area.

  • Steven Williams, 38 years old of Russell County, KY was killed on September 17, 2017, in Russell Co KY

  • Zachary Anderson, 20 years old of Casey County, KY, was killed on 09/22/17 in Casey Co KY
This brings our yearly fatality count to 14 compared with 26 through this same period in 2016.

Statewide fatality count stands at 542 compared with 600 through this same period in 2016.

During the month of September 2017, there were 1124 citations written, 191 courtesy notices written, 1593 vehicles inspected, 691 complaints answered, 77 motorists assisted, 62 criminal cases opened and 291 criminal arrests made.
