Big 36th Pumpkin Festival all day TODAY, Sat 07 Oct 2017

With Fall Break in many schools in the area, advice is in order: There's a lot to see in South Central Kentucky. Today, for thousands, it will be the 36th Annual Metcalfe County Pumpkin Festival, centered around the Metcalfe County Historic Court Yard, 100 E Stockton Street, Edmonton, KY, with exciting events and exhibits and contests starting at 6amCT and continuing throughout the day until the big concert from 4pmCT until 80pmCT featuring the Cassidy Dance Band and the Hornet's Nest Pickers. It's free, for the best seats, come early, bring your own lawn chair.

There will also be events at Bowling Community Park, at the Metcalfe County Fairgrounds, at the Historic Jail, at the Metcalfe County Library, at Metcalfe Drug Store, as well as a Pumpkin Festival Parade.

Here's a peek at most what's happening today festival events:


  • 6am-8amCT - Arts and Crafts Booths and Exhibits set up on Courthouse Grounds.
  • 08amCT - Pumpkin Festival 5K at Bowling Community Park
  • 08am-9amCT - Registration at the Wagon for Biggest Pumpkin, Pumpkin Decorating and Carving, Costume Contests
  • 08am-11amCT - Registration for Pumpkin Festival Car Show at the Fairgrounds.
  • 08amCT - Vendors' booths open
  • 09amCT - Costume contest for children up to 12 Years old at the wagon across from Butler Funeral Home
  • 10am-2pmCT - Historic Jail Tours
  • 10amCT - Children's Parade with Ronald McDonald around the Square
  • 10amCT - Register for Karaoke with 99.1 on the Square. Cash Prizes!
  • 10:30amCT - Ronald McDonald Magic Show at Metcalfe County Public Library
  • 11amCT - Cake Walk in front of Metcalfe Drugs (Sponsored by Homemakers)
  • 11:30am-3:30pmCT - Pumpkin Festival Car Show at the Fairgrounds.
  • 12pm-3pmCT - Karaoke Contest with 99.1 FM
  • 3pm-3:15pmCT - Historic Car Parade
  • 3pm-4pmCT - Belles of the Bluegrass Music
  • 4pm-8pmCT - City of Edmonton sponsors FREE Concert on the Square, featuring Cassidy Dance Band and Hornet's Nest Pickers. Bring you lawnchair.
Carnival Rides and Games by Fox Creek Amusement Company for children and adults from 8amCT till 8pmCT.
