David Cable, 65, Taylor County, KY (1951-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church where he served 28years working as a Custodian, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Deacon. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and will be accorded military honors at committal rites. After returning from his tour of duty in the army, David spent the next 45 years working at Green River Ford, Alex Montgomery and Don Franklin in the parts departments. David lived a life of dedication and devotion, a life firmly grounded in his walk with Christ as made manifest in the generosity and loyalty he gave to his relationships with his family and friends. David was deeply committed to his wife, Debbie and their son, Jason. His life was one of discipline and purpose; balanced with compassion and a fun loving, upbeat, optimistic spirit. He loved the Louisville Cardinals, Richard Petty, and Nascar.

David Cable, 65, Campbellsville, KY, died at 2:40 P.M., Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Monday, October 9, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Brent Gupton and Dr. James E. Jones. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY, with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT, Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

David Cable was the son of the late John B. Cable & Mary Ellen Cave Cable. He was born October 13, 1951, in Taylor County, KY. He died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 65 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church where he served 28years working as a Custodian, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Deacon.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army. After returning from his tour of duty in the army, David spent the next 45 years working at Green River Ford, Alex Montgomery and Don Franklin in the parts departments.

David lived a life of dedication and devotion, a life firmly grounded in his walk with Christ as made manifest in the generosity and loyalty he gave to his relationships with his family and friends. David united in marriage to Debbie Swafford, May 11, 1974.

Besides his wife, Debbie Cable, he is survived by:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Cindy Cable, Campbellsville, KY

  • One granddaughter: Mariah Cable, Campbellsville, KY

  • Two step-granddaughters: Megan Shively and Sydney Shively,Campbellsville, KY

  • One step great-grandson: KeKe Miller, Campbellsville, KY

  • Two brothers and one sister: Thomas Lee Cable and wife, Vicky of Atlanta, GA; John D. Cable and wife, Debby of Bowling Green, KY; and Anna Sue Wheatley and husband, Cleve of Campbellsville, KY;

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • many other relatives and friends.
