Stewart Cochran, 62, Casey Co., KY (1955-2017)

He will be truly missed. Stewart was a school grounds monitor. He loved his job. He was of the Methodist faith. Stewart enjoyed traveling and watching basketball and baseball; he was a sports enthusiast. A few of his favorite ball teams were the Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox. Stewart liked to socialize with everyone; he never met a stranger. He was the son of Mildred Davis Cochran, who survives and the late Wayne Wendell Cochran. His wife of 13 years, Rhonda Price Cochran, survives.

Stewart Cochran, 62, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. He was 62.

The funeral service will be held at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, next to St. Bernard Catholic Church, 5075 KY 551, Liberty, KY in the Clementsville Community of Casey County. The family will receive friends 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.



Pallbearers will be: Ben Cochran, Dustin Cochran, Lee Murphy, Ryan Beard, Darrell Barlow and Robert Johnson.

Born on May 9, 1955, in Casey County, KY., he was a son of Mildred Davis Cochran & the late Wayne Wendell Cochran. He died Saturday, September 30, 2017, in Danville, Boyle County, KY,at the age of 62 years, four months, and 21 days.

Stewart was a school grounds monitor. He loved his job. He was of the Methodist faith. Stewart enjoyed traveling and watching basketball and baseball; he was a sports enthusiast. A few of his favorite ball teams were the Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox. Stewart liked to socialize with everyone; he never met a stranger.

In addition to his mother, Stewart is survived by:
  • His wife: Rhonda Price Cochran, of Liberty, KY, whom he wed on August 18, 2004

  • Two brothers: Steve Cochran and Stacey (and Pamela) Cochran, both of Liberty, KY

  • In-laws: Scott and Lisa Dunagan of Bronston, KY; and Jeff and Cynthia Lyons of Berea, KY

  • His mother in-law: Roberta Price

  • Ten nieces and nephews: Amber (and James) Pappas, Dustin Cochran, Ben Cochran, Hannah (and Ronnie) Cochran, Matt Cochran, Rebekah Cochran, Austin Dunagan, Aaron Miller, Cameron Dunagan and Sydney Lyons

  • A great-niece: Remi

  • Several aunts and uncles

  • And his long-time friend: Lee Murphy
