By Anthony Latessa COLUMBIA, KY (Sat Sep 2017) - The No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball extended its winning streak to 17 games on Saturday with a 3-0 sweep of Life (GA) at Biggers Sports Center. The Blue Raiders recorded a sweep for the 16th time in their last 17 matches to improve to 17-0 overall and 7-0 in the Mid-South Conference with the 25-12, 25-11, 25-10 victory over the Running Eagles (14-7, 2-3 MSC). Lindsey Wilson has now won 59-consecutive home matches. Lindsey Wilson outhit Life .452 to .012. and hit over .425 in all three sets. This marks the seventh-consecutive match the Blue Raiders hit .300 or better and the 13th time this season. Lindsey Wilson had six players hit .400 or better in the match. The Blue Raiders had 46 kills and just eight errors in the match. Paulina Sobolewska led the way with a match-high 16 kills which is the most by a Blue Raider this season. Sobolewska recorded double-digit kills in a match for the 10th time this season which leads the team. Makenzie Montano recorded 32 assists while Elly Burke had a team-high 11 digs and three service aces. After trailing 2-0 to begin the first set Lindsey Wilson scored 10 of the next 12 points to take a 10-4 lead in the set. The Blue Raiders got seven of the last eight points for the 25-12 victory hitting .429 and limiting the Running Eagle to a .069 hitting percentage. Sobolewska led the way in the first set with six kills while Yennifer Ramirez added four. Caitlyn Tino and Sobolewska both recorded four digs in the set and Montano had 11 assists. The Blue Raiders finished the second set scoring 11 of the last 12 points for the 25-11 victory. Lindsey Wilson hit a match-high .483 in the second set a limited Life to .061. Madison Molitor recorded six kills in the second set. Lindsey Wilson opened the third set scoring 13 of the first 15 points. The Blue Raiders closed out the match scoring 9 of the last 11 points for the 25-10 victory. Sobolewska finished with six kills in the third set.
