He was a native of Green County, KY, the son of the late Rollin Barnett, Sr. & Ozella Richardson Barnett and the widower of Mary Lucy Smith Barnett. He leaves He was a member of a large, respected Green County family. He leaves 35 direct living descendants. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jacob Grove Baptist Church, where he formerly served on the Jacob Grove Usher Board and as a trustee. He worked at Bourbon Cooperage in Lebanon for several years. He also worked at the Green County Courthouse.

Rollin Barnett, Jr., departed this life Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at The Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service of Rollin Barnett, Jr., will be at 11amCT, Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 East Court Street, Greensburg, KY. The wake and visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Friday, September 29m 2017. Ministers officiating will be Rev. Henry Nelson, Eulogy; and Rev. Louis Henry. Burial will be in Green County Memory Gardens, Summersville, KY.



Pallbearers: Jerry Cowherd, Donnie Williams, William Richardson, Jeremy Barnett, Stacy Barnett,and Ryan Barnett

Honorary Pallbearers: James Thornton, Dick Thornton, Carl Compton, Joe Bridgewater, Arzo Miller, and James Ulis Williams

Rollin Barnett, Jr., was born March 2, 1931 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Rollin Barnett, Sr. & Ozella Richardson Barnett. He departed this life Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, in Campbellsville, Taylor County KY, having attained the age of 86 years, six months and 24 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jacob Grove Baptist Church, where he formerly served on the Jacob Grove Usher Board and as a trustee. He worked at Bourbon Cooperage in Lebanon for several years. He also worked at the Green County Courthouse.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lucy Smith Barnett, one son: Stephon Barnett and one brother: George (Pete) Washington Barnett.

He is survived by:
  • One daughter: Holly Barnett of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sons and two daughters-in-law: Earl & Mary Barnett of Campbellsville, KY; and and James and Thresa Barnett of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Three sisters: Shirley Scott, Francis (Babe) Compton and Annie Shively, all of Louisville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • Six great-great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends
