Stanley Coy Lane, 88, Casey County, KY (1929-2017)

Stanley was a corporal in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors after 29.5 years of dedicated service with the company. He was an avid golfer. Stanley was known for his love of cars; he also enjoyed detailing them. He was the son of the late Roy & Joyce Murphy Lane. His wife of 28 years, Shirley Corn Lane, survives. He leaves five direct and 18 step living descendants.

Stanley Coy Lane, 88, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at his home in Liberty, having attained the age of 88.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET, on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Larry Crenshaw, Bro. Raymond Burgess and Rev. Raymond Alstott officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 8am-12pmNoonCT/9am-2pmET on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Born on February 21, 1929, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Roy & Joyce Murphy Lane. Stanley was a corporal in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors after 29.5 years of dedicated service with the company. He was an avid golfer. Stanley was known for his love of cars; he also enjoyed detailing them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Corn Lane, whom he wed on July 7, 1989, and the following:
  • A daughter: Gina (and Raymond) Rico of Jonesboro, GA

  • Two stepdaughters: Elizabeth (and Mark) Pierce of Kaysville, Utah; and Malena (and Brian) Shaw of Clarksville, IN

  • A step-son: Steven (and Lois) Ware of Scottsburg, IN

  • Two grandchildren: Adam and Nick

  • Two great-grandchildren: Dottie and Pia

  • Nine step-grandchildren: Sonny, Kayla, Stephanie, Stevie, Erin, Morgan, Eli, Mahala and Dante

  • Six step great-grandchildren: Jared, Evie, Jax, Liam, Silas and Oliver
In addition to his parents, Stanley is preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel Price Lane; two sisters, Evelyn Hicks and Lillian Hatfield; and three brothers, Wayne Lane, Hershel Lane and Lonnie Lane.
