She was a native of Cundiff, KY, and a resident of Russell Springs, KY, at the time of her death. She was a member of a highly respected Southeast Adair County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Joe Lester & Anna Louise Helm George. Her husband, Jr. Martin, survives. She leaves nine direct living descendants.

Joyce Williams Martin, 56, of Russell Springs, KY, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 2:07pmCT, at her home.

Visitation is requested after 10amCT on Friday. The funeral service will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 12:30pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Hadley officiating. Burial will follow in Burchett Cemetery. Casket Bearers: Corey McClister, Josh Kerr, Tom Bunch, Tony George, Leroy Spencer, David George, Clayton Shaw and Scott Guffey.

She was born December 2, 1960, in Cundiff, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of , the late Joe Lester & Anna Louise Helm George. She died Tuesday, September 22, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 56 years, nine months, and 20 days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Billy Joe & Jimmy George, one brother-in-law, Bishop King, and one special aunt, Thelma Bunch. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Jr. Martin of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two daughters: Dana (Jerry) Mink of Somerset, KY; and JoAnn (Clayton) Shaw of Russell Springs, KY

  • Son: Allen McClister of Russell Springs, KY

  • Sister: Renee Stinson (Damon) of Columbia, KY

  • Brother: Dale George of Russell Springs, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Jordan McClister, Corey McClister, Justin Akers all of Russell Springs, KY; and Joshua Kerr and Samantha Mink both of Somerset, KY

  • One great-grandchild: Treyton McClister

  • Special aunts: Alene Melson, Irene Spencer, Barbara Polston and Faye Spencer all of Columbia, KY

  • Two special friends: Cheryl Lee and Kerri Kerr

  • Several other relatives & friends

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, will be in charge of arrangements.
