Jeff Buis receives 2017 Outstanding PTA Service Award Award based in large part for Buis efforts to promote Physical Therapy as an alternative to opiod pain medication Jeffrey Buis, PTA received the Association's highest PTA recognition at the Kentucky Conclave held on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Buis who is employed by Orthodyne Physical Therapy in Campbellsville, is a resident of Casey County. Orthodyne's Kyle Salsbury, PT DPT said Buis is active on the State and National levels with association initiatives. "Jeff has lead our efforts to recognize the #choosePT initiative which was launched by the American Physical Therapy Association. He has been a constant supporter of physical therapy and continues to promote PT in many venues. Jeff is most deserving of the Outstanding PTA Service Award." During the awards reception Buis was recognized for his efforts with promoting #choosePT in Kentucky. #ChoosePT is a nationally recognized undertaking to educate consumers about a safe alternative to opioid pain medications, using physical therapy for pain management. Patrick Myers, PT President of the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association recognized Buis as a huge supporter of #choosePT. "He has written letters to the Editor, participated in radio programs, created display boards, written op eds, and contacted state and federal officials about choosePT and the opioid crisis in Kentucky.
