CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (Fri 8 Sep 2017) Kentucky State Police investigated a two vehicle injury collision on New Columbia Road at the intersection of South Columbia Avenue today around 8:25amET.

Preliminary investigations indicate that 41 year-old James Stotts of Columbia was operating a 2001 Dodge traveling north on KY55. Due to the dense fog, Stotts was unable to see the traffic light at the intersection. Stotts entered the intersection striking a 2011 Toyota being driven by 21 year-old Carlie Hazel of Campbellsville. Hazel was attempting to make a left hand turn onto New Columbia Road from South Columbia Avenue when the collision occurred.

Stotts and Hazel were both wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision. A passenger in the Stotts vehicle 33 year-old Natasha Stotts of Columbia was not wearing her seat belt at the time of collision. All three persons were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Campbellsville Taylor County EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Sgt. Jason H. Morris is investigating and was assisted by the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, Campbellsville Police and Campbellsville Fire Department.
