Mary Catherine Williams, 84, Campbellsville, KY (1932-2017)

Known as "Aunt Kai" by many, she retired from Fruit of the Loom after 23 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Board.

Mary Catherine Williams of Campbellsville died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Elizabethtown at Hardin Memorial Hospital, following an illness. She was 84 years old.

Funeral services for Mary Catherine Williams will be held at 1pmET Tuesday, September 5th at the Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church, with the eulogy by Rev. Michael Caldwell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family request visitation on Tuesday at the church prior to the service after 11amET.



Mary Williams was born on November 6, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky to the late Charlie Murphy and Mary Harlean Edwards Davis. She passed away at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 24 days.

Known as "Aunt Kai" by many, she retired from Fruit of the Loom after 23 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Board.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Ernest Williams, Sr. on November 27, 2014; a son, Walter L. Williams, a daughter, Dorothy Ann Williams, a granddaughter, Temigi Scott and a brother, Charles Davis.

She is survived by her children, Chester Ernest Williams, Jr. and his wife, Patricia Mae, Barbara Williams, George Thomas Williams, James "J.D." Williams, Lisa Scott and her husband, Mike and Stephanie Williams White, all of Campbellsville, Mary Elizabeth Williams, of Radcliff and Terry Keith Williams of Anderson, Indiana; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Susie Lee Hardin, Joe Davis, Rose Spencer and Ruth Ann Davis, all of Indianapolis, Ida Smith and her husband, Garfield of Richmond, James Davis and his wife, Sara of Atlanta and Marie Tardy of DeRidder, Louisiana.

Serving as pallbearers are Dwaron Williams, Anthony Williams, Terrill Williams, Robert Porter, Dayton Williams, Phil Williams, James Johnson and Eddie Hazelwood.
