Gary Foster, Taylor Co., KY/McCreary Co. native (1948-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Mt. Washington High School in 1966; attended Lindsey Wilson College and Campbellsville College in 1986. He was a retired minister and former principal at Kentucky Christian Schools. His wife, Diann Foster, survives. He leaves 16 direct living descendants. Gary was a loving foster parent, son, father, brother and friend.

Gary Foster, 69 of Campbellsville, KY, son of Ina Lee Owens Foster and the late James Edward Foster, was born March 9, 1948, in McCreary County, KY. He died at 7:45amET, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Campbellsville.

The funeral services was at 2pmCT/3pmET, Friday, August 4, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, by Rev. Earl West. Burial is in Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block W. Main Street. Visitation was 12pmNoon-2pmCT/1pm-3pmET, Friday, August 4, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Gary Foster, Taylor Co., KY/McCreary Co. native (1948-2017)


Gary Foster, was the son of Ina Lee Owens Foster & the late James Edward Foster. He was born March 9, 1948, in McCreary County, KY. He died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 69 years, four months, and 23 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Mt. Washington High School in 1966; attended Lindsey Wilson College and Campbellsville College in 1986. Gary was a retired minister and former principal at Kentucky Christian Schools. He united in marriage to Diann Wade August 25, 1968.

Gary was a loving foster parent, son, father, brother and friend.

Besides his wife, Diann Foster of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by:
  • Four sons and two daughters: Patrick Foster and wife, Esther and Penni Prates and husband, David of Louisville, KY; Philip Foster and wife, Amanda of Hebron, KY; Peter-John Foster and Paul Foster of Campbellsville, KY; and Patricia Brown and boyfriend, Tony Johnson of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: David Foster & fiancee, Moriah Haurigan; Marquis Johnson, Rachael Brown, Joshua Brown, Kristina Foster, Danielle Foster, Gabrielle Foster, Derrick Foster and Emily Prates

  • One great-granddaughter: Analeigh Foster

  • His mother: Ina Lee Foster of Mt. Washington, KY

  • Three brothers and two sisters: Michael Foster and wife, Mary Jane of Prospect, KY; Robert Foster and wife, Rheta of Hodgenville, KY; Terry Foster and wife, Karen of Shepherdsville, KY; Karen Lynn Cox and husband, Jeff of Shelbyville, KY; and Sharon DeVoie and husband, Ken of Nashville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Gary was also preceded in death by two daughters: Princess Jessica Foster December 1, 2011, and Psamantha Jo Foster March 17, 1991.
