Washington Co. fatal collision takes life of 25-year-old driver

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY
Springfield, Ky. (July 31, 2017) - Tpr. Jonathan Carlock is investigating a collision that occurred today at 4:14pmET, on KY 152, 2 miles east of Springfield, KY.
25-year-old Dylan Cheatham was operating an eastbound 2003 Toyota Corolla on KY 152 when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the westbound lane, left the roadway and struck an embankment and tree.
Mr. Cheatham was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner.
A passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old Ericka Hamilton, of Willisburg, was taken to Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY where she was treated for non life threatening injuries.
Tpr. Carlock was assisted at the scene by Washington County Fire and EMS, Sheriff's Department and Coroner.
