She was a former hairdresser having owned and operated Mary's Beauty Salon. She loved working in her flower beds, was an avid reader and enjoyed baking for her friends and family. She was a native of Nelson County, KY, the daughter ofthe late Edward Martin & Edna Mae Perkins Martin. She was the widow of Randall VanCleave, her husband of 55 years. She leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Mary VanCleave, 77, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Edward Martin and Edna Mae Perkins Martin died at 2:12pmET, Monday, July 24, 2017 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service by Rev. Michael Goodwin will be at 10amCT/11amET, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY.

Mary VanCleave was the daughter of the late Edward Martin & Edna Mae Perkins Martin. She was born November 14, 1939 in Nelson County, KY. She died Monday, July 24, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 77 years, eight months, and 10 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Mary was a former hairdresser having owned and operated Mary's Beauty Salon.

She loved working in her flower beds, was an avid reader and enjoyed baking for her friends and family.

She united in marriage to Randall VanCleave July 3, 1958 and he preceded her in death May 31, 2014.

She is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Gail Cochran and Sherry Matthews and husband, Tony, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Cory Harrison of Campbellsville, KY; Chris Harrison and wife, Megan of Columbia, KY; Josh Cochran and fiancee, Tatem Smith of Campbellsville, KY; and Katlin Cochran of Clinton, TN

  • Four great-grandchildren: Gavin Harrison, Ava Harrison, Levi Harrison and Rhylen Smith

  • Two brothers: Russell Martin of Campbellsville, KY; and James Martin of Hodgenville, KY

  • Several cousins and nieces

  • And many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Martin.
