Larry Rondal DeWitt, 73, Taylor Co., KY (1944-2017)

He was the former owner of Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville and Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home in Lebanon. Prior to his career in funeral service, he served in the U.S. Army and saw duty in Viet Nam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. A Kentucky Colonel, his memberships included Campbellsville Baptist Church, the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He leaves 13 direct living descendants.

Larry Rondal DeWitt, known by many as "Ronnie", age 73, of Campbellsville, KY died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Elizabethtown, KY.

Funeral services for Larry DeWitt, will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Dr. James Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Separate Church Cemetery. The family requests visitation Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.



Larry Rondal DeWitt, 73, Taylor Co., KY (1944-2017)


Larry was born June 16, 1944. He was the son of the late Dollie & Lona (Skaggs) Dewitt. He died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY, at the age of 73 years, one month, and three days. A brother, Michael, also preceded him in death.

He was the former owner of Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville and Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home in Lebanon. Prior to his career in funeral service, he served in the U.S. Army and saw duty in Viet Nam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. A Kentucky Colonel, his memberships included Campbellsville Baptist Church, the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by:
  • His four children: Allan DeWitt and his wife, Kym of Woodburn, KY; Tonya Money and her husband, Scott, of Elizabethtown, KY; Jef DeWitt of Louisville, KY; and Tara Bland and her husband, Chris of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Jacob Taylor, Joshua Taylor and his wife, Katie, Jordan and Emileigh DeWitt, Grace and Gabi Sutherland and Levi and Hallie Bland

  • One great-granddaughter: Ava Taylor and a sister, Erlene Lawson, of Campbellsville, KY
