Phillip L. Brummett, Sr., Russell Co., KY (1929-2017)

He was the patriarch of a very large, respected family. He was the son of the late Dud & Lillie Ballenger Brummett. His wife, Betty Lou Dunbar Brummett, survives. He leaves 40 direct living descendants.

Phillip L. Brummett, 88, S Hwy 127, Jamestown, KY, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

The funeral for Phillip L. Brummett will be at 1pmCT, Friday, July 21, 2017, at the H.E. Pruitt Funeral Home, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Bro. Jessie Jewell officiating. Burial will be in the Jamestown Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY. Visitation will be from 11amCT until the time for the service at 1pmCT, Friday.

He was born June 14, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Dud & Lillie Ballenger Brummett. He died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 84 years, one month, and four days. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Dunbar Brummett, Jamestown, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Tony Brummett, Phillip Brummett, Jr., and Dudley Brummett, all of Jamestown, KY

  • Two daughters: Judy L. Rexroat, Georgetown, KY; and Peggy Sue Winningham, Byrdstown, TN

  • Sister: Margaret Johnson, Jamestown, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Eighteen grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents.
