She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She was the widow of the late William Robert Hendrickson. She leaves 20 direct living descendants. She will be laid to rest in Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia, Adair County, KY.

Arneva Yates Hendrickson, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died July 12, 2017 in Indianapolis.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11amCT/12pmNoonET at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 5325 E. 30th Street, Indianapolis with viewing starting at 9amCT/10amET.

Committal service will be Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 5pmCT, at Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia with Rev. William Paul Hardin officiating with burial to follow. Visitation in Columbia will be after 3pmCT, Sunday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY.

She was born June 28, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Annie & John Yates. She died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in Indianapolis, Marion County, IN, at the age of 84 years, 14 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Hendrickson; a sister, Orene Walker; and a brother, William Yates.

Survivors include:
  • Four daughters: Theresa Cornett (Allen), Connie Thompson, Martha Hendrickson and Sharon Hendrickson all of Indianpolis, IN

  • One son: Kenneth Hendrickson of Indianapolis, IN

  • Four sisters: Naomi Mills, Pearline Mason, Veachel Hendrickson (Joseph), Emmerline Hardin (Bernard)

  • Five sisters-in-law: Florene Yates, Mattie Hardin, Sarah Jackson, Ada Duncan (Joseph), Naomi Embry (Roy)

  • Five brothers-in-law: Thomas Amos, John, Joseph (Veachel), Walter (Sandra) and James (Emma) Hendrickson

  • Eight grandchildren: Allen Brent Cornett, Jr. (Christina), Airrion Neville, Tiffani and Brittani Cornett, Kasie Brown, Aleia Thompson, Kenneth Hendrickson, Kendall Hendrickson

  • Seven great-grandchildren: Airrion Neville, Jr., Aamir and Aamad Cornett, LaNiyah Neville, Ty Allen Wilson, Karter Greene and Jordan Wilson
