Duncan Rand, age 76 years of the Fairplay Community in Adair County, KY, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2:25pmCT, at Signature Health at Summit Manor, Columbia, KY.

Cremation was chosen.



Duncan Rand, Adair County, KY/Oxford Co., ME native (1940-2017)

He was born August 5, 1940 in Rumford, Oxford County, ME. He was son of the late Clarence Winslow and Dorothy Morton Ross Rand. He died Friday, July 14, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and five days.

Duncan was preceded in death by his wife Faye Hitchens in 1986.

He is survived by:
  • One son: John Rand and his wife Diane of St. Cloud, FL.

  • One brother: Roderick Rand of Berlin, NH

  • One sister: Dorothy Young of Bedford, New Hampshire.

  • One grandchild: John Rand.

  • A special friend: Bradley McClister of Columbia, KY.

  • Several nieces and nephews
  • And a host of other relatives and friends
  • Duncan was a retired carpenter and served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and caring for pets.
