Rose Marie Huckaby, Russell Co., KY, Kenton Co., KY native (1956-2017)

She was the daughter of the late Joseph & Mary Maus. She graduated with a bachelor and master's degree in speech pathology from Western KentucKY University. Her husband, Terry Huckaby, survives. She leaves seven direct living descendants. She married Terry in 1983, and over the next 6 years the couple welcomed four beautiful children into the world. Rose raised those four children to be loving, smart, and compassionate human beings. She sat through countless ball games, swim meets, and graduations in support of her children. She will be remembered and missed as a loving wife, mother, and "Nana"

Rose Marie Huckaby died peacefully on July 5, 2017 in Somerset, KY at the age of 60.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, July 8, at 3pmCT, in the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will be 1pm-3pmCT, Saturday. All are welcomed to come celebrate Rose's life.

Rose was born on December 3, 1956 in Covington, Kenton County, KY. She was the daughter of Joseph & Mary Maus. She died Wednesday, July 5, 2017, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 60 years, seven months, and two days.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband of 34 years: Terry Huckaby, Jamestown, KY

  • Four children: Joseph (Katie) Huckaby, Bowling Green, KY; Erin (Jeremy) Burton, Jamestown, KY; Nick (Alicia) Huckaby, Toledo, Ohio; and Megan (Daniel) Florence, AL

  • Three grandchildren: Aidan Burton, Ansley Burton, and Cooper Huckaby

  • One sister: Donna Kellow, Hiddenite, NC

  • One brother: Charlie Maus, Miramar Beach, FL.

  • Her lovable rescue dog: Stella
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Mary Maus and her brother, Tony Maus. She graduated with a bachelor and master's degree in speech pathology from Western KentucKY University.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks you to make a charitable donation to Russell County Little League Baseball or Softball, or to your local sports program, in Rose's name.

The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, and staff at Somerset Regional Hospital for their care th last couple weeks.
