Mrs. Larkie Hudgins, Green County, KY (1936-2017)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired Secretary at Kentucky Farm Bureau, Greensburg KY after 26 years; and she was a Greensburg Elementary School Aide. She was a member of the Rod Lowe Post 124 American Legion Auxiliary, Greensburg, KY. She was the daughter of the late Aubrey E. McGinnie & Leland F. Blevins McGinnis. Her husband Harold "Hudge" Hudgins survives. She leaves 19 direct and 3 step living descendants.

Mrs. Larkie Hudgins, 80, departed this life Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Larkie Hudgins will be conducted 11amCT, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 729 Old Hodgenville Road, Greensburg, KY, with Rev. Kevin Brantley and Rev. Matthew Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Greensburg Cemetery, N Main Street, Greensburg, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Larkie Hudgins was born December 3, 1936 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Aubrey E. McGinnie & Leland F. Blevins McGinnis. She departed this life Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KYhaving attained the age of 80 years, six months and 28 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired Secretary at Kentucky Farm Bureau, Greensburg KY after 26 years, and she was a Greensburg Elementary School Aide. She was a member of the Rod Lowe Post 124 American Legion Auxiliary, Greensburg, KY.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter: Paula D. Kessler, two sisters and brothers-in-law: Catherine and Caz Curry and Virginia and Carl Vickers and one sister-in-law: Betty McGinnis, and one step grandson: Corey Sprow.

She is survived by her husband, Harold "Hudge" Hudgins, and the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Fran and Kevan Sprow of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Aubrey E. McGinnis, Jr of Bardstown, KY

  • One sister: Jackie Hudson of Greensburg, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Benjamin Conner (Shelley) of Campbellsville, KY; Whitney Scott (Casey) of Greensburg, KY; Christinia Turpen (John) of New Albany, IN; Martha Brown (Chris) of Georgetown, KY; Elizabeth Hunter Whitaker (John) of Lexington, KY; Gabriel Lynn Kessler of Greensburg, KY, and Collin H. Kessler of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two step grandchildren: Kallie Gensler (Jamie) of Archibald, Ohio; and Chris Sprow of Scottsdale, AZ

  • One step granddaughter-in-law: Tammy Sprow

  • And eleven great grandchildren

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the Mary Kate Moore Scholarship Fund. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg or at the church.
