Mrs. Betty L. Holman Crawford, of Celina, TN passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, at The Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN.

The funeral service for Mrs. Betty L. Holman Crawford was conducted on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Charles Smith officiating. Burial was in the Crawford Family Cemetery in Clay County, TN.



Casket Bearers were Jamie Crawford, Johnny McLerran, James Spas, Tyler Strong, Rex Short and Thomas Riddle. Honorary Casket Bearers were Grady Holman and Brad Riddle.

She was born in the Bow Community of Cumberland County, KY, on Tuesday, February 27, 1940. She was the daughter of Alex & Rettie Jane Wyatt Holman. She died in Celina, Clay County, TN, at the age of 77 years, three months, and 22 days.

She was a member of The Riverside Church of Christ, a homemaker, received her Associated Degree in business from Lindsey Wilson College, Nursing Degree from Livingston Vocational Technical School, A Nurse (L.P.N) at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Crawford, her brothers, Harold Holman, Lester Holman, Sisters, Belle Garrison, Alyene Holman, Ruby Groce, Infant brothers and sister.

She is survived by"
  • Her children: Willie James "Jamie" and Lucretia Crawford of Celina, TN; Joann and Johnny McLerran of Celina, TN

  • Her siblings: Grady Holman of Burkesville, KY; and Mildred Groce of Burkesville, KY

  • Her special sister-in-law: Sherlene Holman of Cookeville, TN

  • Her grandchildren: Brad Riddle, Brandi Riddle Spas (and James), Asia Crawford, Jamie Lynn Crawford

  • Her great-grandchild: Rettie Jane Ferrel
