Harvey Junior (Yogie) Gilbert, Taylor Co., KY (1968-2017)

Mr. Gilbert was a family man; his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He professed faith in Christ and attended New Journey Church in Campbellsville. Mr. Gilbert tried to lead a life of example; not only did he believe in God, he loved talking to anyone about Him. He was an outdoorsman as well, and took pleasure in manual labor.

Mr. Harvey Junior "Yogie" Gilbert of Campbellsville, KY, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Gilbert chose to be cremated, and those wishes were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, , 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY, There will be a public memorial service announced and conducted at a later date.



Harvey Junior (Yogie) Gilbert, Taylor Co., KY (1968-2017)

Born on January 11, 1968, he was the son of the late Harvey Twillard and Elizabeth Mary (Wise) Gilbert. He died Sunday, June 18, 2017, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 49 years, five months, and seven days of age.

Mr. Gilbert was a family man; his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He professed faith in Christ and attended New Journey Church in Campbellsville. Mr. Gilbert tried to lead a life of example; not only did he believe in God, he loved talking to anyone about Him. He was an outdoorsman as well, and took pleasure in manual labor.

He leaves to mourn his passing:
  • His wife: Frances (Edwards) Gilbert of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three children: Mary "Nikki" Graeter and husband Brent, Rashelle "Pebbles" Mortis and husband Bryant, and Charles Bruce Lee Gilbert, all of Evansville, Indiana,

  • Five brothers: Charles Gilbert and wife Carol of Tennessee, and Danny Dale Gilbert and wife Sondra, Randall Gilbert and wife Liz, Eddie Gilbert, George Gilbert and wife Janie, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four sisters-in-law: Desirae Wheeler and husband Kelly, Lexi Wheeler, Casey Vogt, and Amber Edwards,

  • Seven grandchildren: Isiah Mortis, Elizabeth Hester, Christian Kisner Gilbert, Serenity Mortis, Mikayla Mortis, Maya Gilbert, and Brent Harvey Graeter

  • Best friends: Scott Hooker, Alvin Hooker, and their families

  • And a host of other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by four siblings, Mary Gilbert, Peggy Gilbert, Cheryl Gilbert, and Bobby Wayne Gilbert, and a couple he treated as parents, Tom and Carolynn Westbay.
