She was a member of Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church and had worked at the Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY. She a member of a respected South Central Kentucky family, the daughter of the late James Richard Hamlet & Mildred Lois Davis Hamlett, who survives. She leaves on direct living descendant, a son, Troy Armstrong of Columbia, KY.

Mary E. Hamlett Armstrong age 49 years of Columbia passed away Sunday June 11, 2017 at 1:30pmET, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Funeral service Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Mike Helm the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Pallbearers will be Jeralyn Spires, Jason Reliford, Wayne Hopper, & men from the Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church.



Mary E. Hamlett Armstrong, Adair County, KY; Cumberland Co., KY native (1967-2017)


She was born October 11, 1967, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late James Richard Hamlett, who preceded her in death in 1974, & Mildred Lois Davis Hamlett, Columbia, KY, who survives. She died Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 49 years, seven months.

In addition to her mother, Mildred Davis Hamlett of Columbia, KY she is survived by the following:
  • One son: Troy Armstrong of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Richard Allen (Sharon) Hamlett of Columbia, KY

  • Two nieces: Jessica Hamlett & Emily Pike

  • Aunt, uncle, and a host of other family and relatives
She was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Conover in 2012.

She was a member of Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church and had worked at the Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.
