Susan Melanie Bailey Whalen, 57, of Russell Springs, KY, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

Graveside service for Susan Melanie Whalen will be 10amCT, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Russell Springs City Cemetery, Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating.

She was born June 25, 1959 in Largo, Pinellas County, FL. She was the daughter of the late Arnold & Gladys Mae Foxx Bailey. She died Monday, June 12, 2017, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 57 years, 11 months, and 17 days. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Kenneth Whalen, Jr., Russell Springs, KY

  • Three sons: Daniel Whalen, Columbia, KY; Matt Whalen, Russell Springs, KY; and Shawn (Kristen) Whalen, Burnside, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Johnny & Destiny

  • Three brothers: Roy Bailey, Dayton, FL; Gary Bailey, Homosassa, FL; and Thomas Bailey, Homosassa, FL

  • Five sisters: Patricia Vest, Jamestown, IN; Kathleen Poe, Largo, FL; and Nancy Bailey, Ashville, NC; Betty Pia, Akron, Ohio; and Linda Williams, Ashville, NC
