Lorene Spoon, 82, Russell County, KY/Adair County native (1934-2017)

She professed her faith at Griders Chapel Church and also attended the Creelsboro Christian Church when able. She retired from Osh Gosh where she worked for many years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, the outdoors, and loved being surrounded with family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Wint & Lela Hadley Spoon.

Lorene Spoon age 82 of the Melson Ridge Road Community of Jamestown, KY died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 10:05amET, at The Liberty Care Center in Liberty, KY.

Funeral services, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 2pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Clergy officiating will be Bro. Barry Bradshaw. Interment at the Ragan Cemetery. The family requests visitation after 9:30amCT, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

Lorene Spoon, 82, Russell County, KY/Adair Co. native (1934-2017)

She was born on December 21, 1934 in Fairplay, Adair County,, KY. She was the daughter of the late Wint & Lela Hadley Spoon. She died Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 82 years, five months, and 21 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by one brother, James Oliver Spoon.

She is survived by:
  • Two sisters: Margaret Ann Lawless of Jamestown, KY; and Edith Flatt and her husband Billy of Jamestown, KY

  • A special friend: Sam Back of Jamestown, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews, family and friends
