The honor is the fifth for Pooler since becoming the athletics director at Lindsey Wilson during the 2003-04 academic year. Pooler was honored at the conference's award ceremony on Wednesday night as part of the Mid-South Conference's annual summer meeting at the National Corvette Museum. "I'm pleased to accept this award on the behalf of our student-athletes, coaches and administration," Pooler said. "Lindsey Wilson had another incredible year in the playing arena and in the classroom. All the credit goes to our coaches and student-athletes who work tirelessly throughout the year to represent this great institution. "I would like to thank our administration for their continued support and my fellow athletic directors for this honor. It is a true pleasure to work with outstanding professionals within the best conference in the NAIA." Pooler also received the conference's athletic director of the year honor during the 2004-05, 2006-07 and 2012-13 academic years and shared it in 2011-12. In 2016-17, Lindsey Wilson captured the program's sixth straight and seventh overall Mid-South Conference President's Cup -- the conference's all-sports trophy. Blue Raider athletics currently sits in second place in the NAIA Learfield Director's Cup standings. Nine Lindsey Wilson athletic programs won their respective regular-season title while nine LWC teams captured the conference tournament or championship crowns in 2016-17. Fifteen Lindsey Wilson athletic teams played in their respective national championship during the season. In the classroom, Lindsey Wilson produced 187 academic all-conference performers and 31 NAIA Scholar-Athletes during the academic year. This story was posted on 2017-06-07 21:40:12
