She retired from the sewing factory with 31 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working in her flower beds. She was the daughter of the late Charles & Birdie Wheeler Wesley and the widow of Orville Rodgers. She leaves 25 direct living descendants.

Helen Rodgers of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was 91 years young.

Funeral services are at 10amCT/11amET, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Whited Cemetery with Brother Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Whited Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5pm7pmCT/6pm-8pmET, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.



Helen Rodgers, 91, Casey County, KY (1926-2017)


Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Birdie Wheeler Wesley. She died Monday, May 29, 2017, at the age of 91 years, one month.

Helen retired from the sewing factory with 31 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working in her flower beds.

Survivors include:
  • One son: Mike Rodgers of Liberty, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Twelve great-grandchildren

  • Five great-great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Rodgers, who passed away January 10, 2003; one son, Jarvis Rodgers; a daughter, Brenda Christian; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers; and four sisters.
