Brenda Faye Root, 66, of Russell Springs, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at her home.

Funeral service for Brenda Faye Root will be 12pmNoonCT, Monday, May 29, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 392 KY-80, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Ryan Coffey and Bro. Corey Hayes officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Sunday, May 28, 2017, and after 10amCT Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Russell Springs City Cemetery, Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, KY.


Pallbearers: Kevin Lloyd, Tim Roy, Steve Roy, Corey Roy, Jason Roy, and Chris O'Brien

She was born October 23, 1950 in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ivis & Thelma Meece Roy. She died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 66 years, seven months, and one day.

She was a retired social worker and a member of First Baptist Church of Russell Springs, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas, Rudy, & Carthel Roy; and a niece, Brandi Roy

Survivors include the following:
  • One son: Joshua Root and his wife, Maggie, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Jameson Root, and Lyla Root

  • One sister: Donna (Bruce) Floyd, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sisters-in-law: Jean Roy, Elizabethtown, KY, and Melanie Roy, Shepherdsville, KY

  • And several nieces & nephews
