Letter: Compliments to those who made the TRH event so nice

Vonnie Kolbenschlag writes:
I wish to compliment the beautiful gracious young women who helped serve at the Trabue/Russell House lunch. I was very impressed with their manners and ability to know what needed to be done.

Mary Anne Loy certainly deserves a lot of credit for washing all the table settings and preparing food for an unknown number of people. She also spent time cleaning the house in preparation. There is no dishwasher appliance. I want to thank Mayor Curtis Hardwick for understanding the need for upgrades to the house.

Old houses especially need TLC as well as funds for ongoing repairs. The house belongs to the city and is available for meetings or events such as the lunch. There are now displays of local history.

Please check at the municipal building to schedule an event. There is a charge for non profit groups' use plus a refundable deposit. A form is also required to be filled out.

The women at the city office are always very accommodating and helpful.
