Adair Fiscal Court Special Session 22 May 2017 - Report

The session lasted scarcely seconds longer than five minutes, but the fast-paced Special Called Meeting of Adair Fiscal Court, Monday morning accomplished all its goals in quick order:


  1. Unanimously approved Harding Benefits' KACO Health Insurance to continue as the Courts' employee health insurances carrier, following Treasurer Melinda Quinn's analysis and recommendation. The vote was unanimous.

  2. Voted unanimously to approve a contract and contribute $2,750 - half of a $5,500 tab split equally with the City of Columbia, for 4th of July Fireworks at the old fairgrounds - to Casey Creek Pyrotechnics, in a contract with Lindsey Wilson College.

  3. Approved budget transfers

  4. Gave approval to the court to pay the Forest Fire invoice

  5. Approved a second reading of the county's 2017-2018 budget, totaling $6,221,174.

  6. Voted to hire two seasonal employees at the Adair County Road Department, Steve Foster and Joe VanArsdale, each to start at $9.60 per hour.
Adair County Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens presided, with all members of the court, Harold Burton (District 1), Daryl Flatt (2), Sammy Baker (3), Perry Reeder (4), Billy Dean Coffey (5), Greg Caldwell (6), and Terry Hadley (7), present; all members of the court voted to approve the measures.

Also present were Deputy CJE Andrea Waggener, Session Recording Clerk Gale Cowan, Treasure Melinda Quinn, and members of the media.
