Leona Pearl Dyson, 93, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Fair Oaks Health Systems in Jamestown, KY.

Friends may visit on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 11amCT till 1pmCT, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY. A graveside service will be held in Mansfield, IL, with burial in the Mansfield Cemetery.



Leona Pearl Dyson, 93, Jamestown, KY/Bloomington, IL native (1924-2017)

She was born in Bloomington, IL on January 17, 1924. She was a daughter of the late Adam Lee & Leona Marie (Kearby) Kent. She died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 93 years, three months, and 29 days.

She was a retired school bus driver and the widow of Richard Y. Dyson.

Mrs. Dyson is survived by:
  • Two sons: Richard (Terry) Dyson, of Deep Water, MO; and John (Karen) Dyson, of Jamestown, KY

  • Two daughters: Deanna Singsime, of Loves Park, IL; and Sherri (Fran) Kelch, of Barrington, IL

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Fifteen great grandchildren

  • Four great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Richard, two brothers Henry and Dean Kent, and two sisters Opal Schultz and Betty Gibson.
