Mr. Wilbur (Buddy) Gabehart, Taylor Co., KY/Adair Co. native (1943-2017)

Mr. Gabehart was a retired mechanic from Fruit of the Loom. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He loved meeting and talking to people and consequently visited several area churches. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He had a big heart and a special bond with his furry friends and would show off his dogs to anyone. His wife, Frankee Ford Gabehart, survives. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

Mr. Wilbur "Buddy" Gabehart, 73, of Campbellsville, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home after a sudden illness.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Gabehart on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1pmCT/2pmET, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Interment will follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery, Hwy 1752, Taylor County, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 20, 2017, after 10:30amCT/11:30amET, until time for the service.

Mr. Wilbur "Buddy" Gabehart of Campbellsville was born in Knifley, Adair County, KY, on November 7, 1943. He was the son of the late Everett "Joe" and Marie (Brown) Gabehart. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was 73 years, 6 months, and 8 days of age.

Mr. Gabehart was a retired mechanic from Fruit of the Loom. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He loved meeting and talking to people and consequently visited several area churches. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He had a big heart and a special bond with his furry friends and would show off his dogs to anyone.

He leaves to carry his legacy:
  • His wife: Frankee Ford Gabehart of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three children: Tracy Gabehart-Werner and husband Dana of Shepherdsville, KY; Renee Hearon and husband Chris of Campbellsville, KY; and Karlee Campbell of Louisville, KY

  • Five brothers and sisters: Weldon Gabehart and wife Elaine of Campbellsville, KY; Geneva Jones of Campbellsville, KY; E.C. Gabehart and wife Sarah of Louisiana; Neva Arnett and husband Frank of Campbellsville, KY; and Juanita Evans and husband Arlis of Louisiana

  • Five grandchildren: Megan King, Emilee Gabehart, Blake Hearon, Zach Ginter, and Baylen Campbell

  • And a host of other family and close friends
