Mr. Mitchell Patterson, 93, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Roy Richard Patterson and Ethel Tucker Patterson, departed this life on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Mitchell Patterson will be conducted at 10amCT, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Beech Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg, KY. Bro. Larry Rowell and Bro. Dale Curry will officiate. Visitation was requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Tuesday at the Beech Grove Baptist Church and after 8amCT, Wednesday at the church until time of the funeral service.

Mr. Mitchell Patterson, 93, Green County, KY (1923-2017)


Mr. Mitchell Patterson of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Roy Richard Patterson and Ethel Tucker Patterson, was born on August 20, 1923 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was 93 years, 8 months, and 23 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and deacon of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Patterson was also a retired postal clerk for the United States Postal Service and a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Lois Page Morrison Patterson on December 9, 2016 having united in marriage on October 4, 1942.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Patsy Kay and Rex Paxton of Greensburg, KY

  • A son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Katie Patterson of Bardstown, KY

  • Three grandchildren and their spouses: Anne and Howard Moore of Greensburg, KY; Beth and Richard Klein of Louisville, KY; and Michael and Stacy Downs of Hodgenville, KY

  • Six great-grandchildren: Hayes Moore and his wife, Korianne, Gaither Moore, Chelsea Klein, Casey Klein, Makayla Downs, and Kori Downs

  • and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Patterson was also preceded in death by two brothers: Elmer Patterson and H.C. Patterson.
