Dr. Herbst will begin internship in General Surgery at the Pearlman School of Medicine in June, 2017 Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) On Sunday, May 14, 2017, David Alan Herbst, Jr. graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Pearlman School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Herbst was awarded the Owen Knopping Memorial Award for Exemplary Community Service. During his tenure in Medical School, Dr. Herbst helped open two separate free clinics for people in need in the Philadelphia area. One was a general clinic, and the other was a surgical qualifying clinic. Dr. Herbst will begin his internship in General Surgery at the Pearlman School of Medicine on June 9, 2017. Attending the graduation ceremony were his family, Les Herbst, Christie Herbst, David Herbst, Sr., Dr. David Alan Herbst, Jr., Rosie Herbst and Cody Herbst.
